NEIGHBOR SENTENCED TO LIFE IMPRISONMENT FOR RAPE OF A MINOR

Nelspruit, Mpumalanga – The Nelspruit Regional Court has sentenced a 22-year-old Mozambican man residing in Msholozi to life imprisonment for raping a 4-year-old girl. The accused’s name is withheld to protect the victim’s identity. He was convicted of rape and contravening the Immigration Act following an incident on 18 July 2022 in Msholozi, Nelspruit.

AFU SECURES R4 MILLION FINAL FORFEITURE ORDER AGAINST COMPANY LINKED TO LIEBENBERG

Pretoria – The High Court in Pretoria has granted the National Prosecuting Authority’s (NPA) Asset Forfeiture Unit (AFU) a final forfeiture order in terms of section 48 of the Prevention of Organised Crime Act (POCA), Act 121 of 1998.

VUSIMUZI MATLALA BAIL APPLICATION DISMISSED

The Alexandra Magistrates’ Court has dismissed the bail application of Vusimuzi Matlala, ruling that he is a flight risk with the financial means to evade trial. The court further held that there is a likelihood he may interfere with state witnesses and that he failed to prove exceptional circumstances to justify his release. Matlala faces charges of Attempted Murder, Conspiracy to Commit Murder, Fraud, and Money Laundering.

MOZAMBICAN NATIONAL SENTENCED TO LIFE AND 17 YEARS FOR MULTIPLE OFFENCES

Limpopo, South Africa – The Groblersdal Regional Court has sentenced Mozambican national King Petrus Chauke (39) to life imprisonment plus an additional 17 years for charges including the rape of a 13-year-old girl, robbery with aggravating circumstances, kidnapping, and being an illegal immigrant.

ESTRANGED HUSBAND SENTENCED TO 25 YEARS FOR TRIPLE MURDER 

Polokwane, Limpopo – The Limpopo Division of the High Court has sentenced Wilfred Moruthanyane Nkadimeng (61) from Burgersfort to 83 years of imprisonment after being convicted of three counts of murder and one of attempted murder. The court ordered the sentences to run concurrently, resulting in an effective 25 years of imprisonment. Nkadimeng was further declared unfit to possess a firearm in terms of Section 103 of the Firearms Control Act 60 of 2000.
