Nelspruit, Mpumalanga – The Nelspruit Magistrates’ Court has sentenced Eddy Mokoena (23) to 10 years’ direct imprisonment for robbery with aggravating circumstances, after attacking a school learner and stealing his cellphone.

RUSTENBURG MAN SENTENCED TO 20 YEARS’ IMPRISONMENT FOR POSING AS A LAWYER
Rustenburg, North West – The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) welcomes the 20 years’ direct imprisonment imposed by the Rustenburg Magistrate’s Court on Kagiso Josias Selomane (45), who was convicted on nine counts of fraud for posing as a lawyer.

15 YEARS IMPRISONMENT FOR MURDERER
The Mtubatuba Regional Court has sentenced Khulekani Mandla Ngubane (48) to 15 years' direct imprisonment for the murder he committed in December 2024 in the Qakwini area. Ngubane was sentenced to murder in terms of Section 51(2), where the prescribed minimum sentence is 15 years imprisonment, and in sentencing him, there was no deviation by the court.

TWO FORMER FIELD RANGERS SENTENCED FOR RHINO POACHING-RELATED OFFENCES
Skukuza, Mpumalanga – The Skukuza Regional Court has sentenced two former field rangers, Freedom Mabilane (39) and Tshifiwa Ramunashi (49), to 14 years’ direct imprisonment each for rhino poaching-related offences. They were convicted on charges of conspiracy to commit a crime and the killing of a rhino.

KIMBERLEY COURT SENTENCES MAN TO 35 YEARS IMPRISONMENT FOR FIREARMS THEFT AND RELATED OFFENCES
Kimberley, Northern Cape – The Kimberley Specialised Commercial Crimes Court (SCCC) has sentenced Mosiuwa Benjamin Motsoane (43) to 35 years’ imprisonment, of which he will serve an effective 18 years, after his conviction on multiple charges relating to the theft and unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition.
