TWO MEN SENTENCED FOR ROBBERY WITH AGGRAVATING CIRCUMSTANCES IN SASOLBURG
Sasolburg, Free State – The Sasolburg Regional Court has convicted and sentenced Julius Mashea (39) and Peter Chenene (43) for robbery with aggravating circumstances, following a violent attack on a female hitchhiker in September 2020.

Potchefstroom, North West – The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) welcomes the sentences of two life terms plus three months imprisonment handed down by the Potchefstroom Regional Court to Elias Tshetla Tautsepata (37). The Lesotho national was convicted and sentenced on two counts of rape and contravening Section 49(1)(a) of the Immigration Act, 2002. The court ordered that all sentences run concurrently, and his name be added to the National Register for Sex Offenders.

AFU SECURES R144 MILLION FORFEITURE ORDER TO RECOVER STOLEN GOVERNMENT LAND
Pretoria – The Pretoria High Court has granted the National Prosecuting Authority’s (NPA) Asset Forfeiture Unit (AFU) a forfeiture order worth R144 million to forfeit government land belonging to the Department of Rural Development and Land Reform (DRDLR) that had been unlawfully transferred to individuals and business entities.

AFU SECURES R 4.4 MILLION FORFEITURE ORDER RELATED TO TROUVA SCHEME
The Pretoria High Court granted the National Prosecuting Authorities’ (NPA) Assert Forfeiture Unit ( AFU) a forfeiture order of R4.4 million held in 24 bank accounts of unsuspecting individuals in two banking institutions.
