Nkele’s Case Postponed For Legal Aid Representation

The Mogwase Regional Court postponed the case against Oupa Nkele(41) to 02 March 2022 for Legal Aid representation and further investigations. He is charged with rape and attempted murder. Following the case being transferred to the regional court, Nkele applied for a new Legal Aid representation and an attorney will be appointed for him before the next court appearance. He is currently out on R1000 bail and he was warned to avail himself in all court appearances until the matter is concluded.

Farmer Appears In Court For The Murder Of A Boy

Daniel Smit appeared at the Klawer Magistrates' Court this morning, in connection with the murder of Jerobejin van Wyk (13).  He is charged with murder, kidnapping, assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and defeating the ends of justice.  

The case has been postponed until 26 April 2022, for further investigation. The defense has indicated that the accused does not intend to apply for bail, however, the  State will oppose the bail application in case the accused changes his mind.

Gender-Based Violence Victim Gets Justice, A Man Is Sentenced To Life For Rape

The Qumbu Regional Court sentenced Katiso Mpita (31) to life imprisonment for raping his late father’s 51-year-old former girlfriend. The court convicted and sentenced the rapist to life imprisonment for the rape and 12 months for assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. An order was made for the sentences to run concurrently.

25 Years Imprisonment For Police Murderer

The Pietermaritzburg High Court sentenced Nkanyiso Nzama, to an effective 25 years imprisonment for the murders and attempted murders he committed in Kranskop in March 2019. Nzama was also convicted of unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition.  Constable Thandoluhle Mhlongo and his friend Mazwi Zuke were in the Kranskop area when they were shot at by Nzama and others, a shootout between the two groups ensued, and Mhlongo died at the scene while Zuke died in hospital.

The NPA Welcomes The Court Decision To Deny Mafe Bail

The Acting Director of National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) in the Western Cape, Advocate Nicolette Bell,  welcomed the decision of Cape Town Regional Court to deny Zandile Christmas Mafe bail. Porsche Driver To Appear In Court For Fatal Crash

The Porsche driver that allegedly fatally hit South African triathlete Andre Piehl, and injured a fellow cyclist when they were returning from a training ride on Saturday morning 29 January 2022, near Lanseria, will appear in the Randburg Magistrates' Court on Monday 07 February 2022. This after the matter was not placed on the roll when it was brought to the prosecution on Monday 31 January 2022, due to outstanding investigations. 

Ex-Convict And Serial Cash-In-Transit Kingpin Sentenced For Similar Offence In Mpumalanga

The Mpumalanga High Court sitting in Graskop has today sentenced Lehlonolo Tleketle (48), from Cosmo City Randburg to 28 years imprisonment, for robbing the cash delivery truck(SBV) an amount of over R14 million. Tleketle committed this offence after he was granted bail in Gauteng, for a similar offence for which he is currently serving 30 years imprisonment for it.

The High Court Sentences Two Men To Life Imprisonment For Killing Poffader Hotelier

Enrich Williams (35) and Amatle Bareki (25) have been found guilty of murdering Leon Brits by the Northern Cape High Court, sitting in Upington. The two men were accused of being the hitmen hired to kill Poffader Hotelier Leon Brits on 07 October 2020.  Leon Brits, a well-known hotelier from Poffader was found killed and his body thrown in a swimming pool in one of his properties.

Former SAPS Technology Management Head Adeline Shezi Trial Deferred To March

The trial of former SAPS Technology Management Service Head, Lieutenant-General Adeline Shezi, her nephew and businessman Tshepo Khoza, his businesses Black Rebel Projects (Pty) Ltd and Grey Apple Trading Enterprise (Pty) Ltd and Lieutenant Shezi’s sister, Mathilda Khoza has been postponed to the 1-3 March 2022. The postponement is due to one of the accused’s Attorney being admitted to the hospital.

Attorney Sentenced To Two Life Terms And 4 Years For Raping And Assaulting Wife

The High Court of South Africa: Eastern Cape Local Division, Grahamstown, sentenced an East London attorney to two life prison terms and an effective 4 years for raping and grievously assaulting his wife.  The 49-year-old attorney was sentenced to two life terms of imprisonment for raping his wife twice, in February 2012 and in May 2019. He was further sentenced to a total of 4 years for two counts of assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm.
