Rape And Murder Accused Gets Life Imprisonment After Successful Collaboration

The Ga-Rankuwa Regional Court sentenced Thabo Mathibe(28), to life imprisonment for rape and 15 years for murdering a 14-year-old girl in Kgabalatsane in the North West. Police reports reveal that on 27 November 2019, the victim was sleeping when Mathibe broke into her home, attacked, raped, and murdered her afterward. Her lifeless body was discovered by her mother, who heard a commotion in her room, and upon investigating saw the accused fleeing the scene.

Gender-Based Violence And Femicide Accused Sentenced To 18 Years For Rape

The Taung Regional Court sentenced Matlhomola Mokwatsi (35) was sentenced to 18-years of imprisonment for rape. Police reports reveal that on 04 March 2018,  at Molelema village near Taung, Mokwatsi met the 18-year-old lady on her way to print a Curriculum Vitae (CV) at a friend’s house. He then convinced the lady and offered to assist at his place. Upon arrival, he then took her to his bedroom, threatened her with a spade, and strangled her before raping her twice.

Life Imprisonment For Rapist Neighbour

The Ntuzuma Regional Court sentenced a 32-year-old man to life imprisonment, for the repeated rape of his 10-year-old neighbour between December 2020 and April 2021 in the Inanda area. The man was very well-known to the child and her family,  as they lived in a close community. The man first raped the child in his room and threatened to harm her if she tells anyone. He also raped the child on occasion when she fetched water for their home.

Bail Judgement Reserved On The Mareetsane Police Murder Case

The Itsoseng Regional Court deferred the case against the four men and one minor accused of killing two police officers in Mareetsane to 18 February 2022 for bail judgement. In opposing bail, the state put the investigating officer in the stand to persuade the court with reasons as to why the accused should not be granted bail. The accused legal representatives also concluded their cross-examination of the investigating officer.

Free State Health HOD In Court For Contravention Of PFMA

BLOEMFONTEIN: The Head of the Free State Department of Health Godfrey Mahlatsi, has appeared in the Bloemfontein Magistrates’ Court earlier today after he was charged for the contravention of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA). Student Financial Aid Fraudster Sentenced To 18 Years

The Mthatha Specialised Commercial Crimes Court, today sentenced Siyambonga Mhlakaza (35) for siphoning R1,2 million from Walter Sisulu University (WSU). He was sentenced to 18 years on the counts of money laundering, and 15 years for 81 counts of fraud, which were treated as one. The court ordered the sentences to run concurrently.
