Man In Court For Murder Of Schoolgirls

Phumelele Werwoed Zulu (20) appeared in the Donnybrook Magistrates’ Court today on two counts of murder and escaping from custody. His appearance relates to an incident that occurred last month, where he allegedly hacked two schoolgirls, Minenhle Buthelezi and Amanda Nqobile Zulu, to death. The incident took place in the Ngwagwane Village, of Creighton, on the KZN south coast.

Rapist Gets 2 Life Sentences And 61 Years Imprisonment

The Pietermaritzburg High Court has sentenced Mduduzi Hopewell Shembe (32), to two terms of life and 61 years imprisonment, following his conviction on four counts of rape and three counts of robbery with aggravating circumstances. The incidents took place in Umlazi and Tongaat, from June 2017 to June 2018, when Shembe and his accomplice raped, attacked, and robbed the women in their homes.

Wife Accused Of Plotting To Murder Husband, To Reapply For Bail On New Facts

An accused, Miriam Tau (40), has appeared in the Kimberley District Court, where her case was transferred to the Kimberley Regional Court. The suspect is facing a charge of conspiracy to commit murder and the applicant is alleged to have planned to have her husband murdered.

Robbers Get Life Terms And 10 Years Imprisonment

The Mtunzini Circuit Court has sentenced Phumlani Mjaza, Musa Nelson Phahla and Sabelo Enoch Mdletshe, to life and 10 years imprisonment, following their conviction on robbery with aggravating circumstances and murder. Mjaza was sentenced to a further 10 years imprisonment for the unlawful possession of a prohibited firearm. The men knew that the victim, Nduduzo Ntuli, owned a minibus taxi, which he used to transport school children. Ntuli used the vehicle for this sole purpose and did not belong to any taxi association.

Two Accused Abandoned Bail In The Murder Case Of Collins Chabane Mayor

Two accused, Shumani Nemadodzi(47) and Avhatakali Mulaudzi(42), have appeared in Malamulele Magistrates' Court, for the murder of the Mayor, of Collins Chabane Municipality, Councilor Moses Maluleke (56). They are facing the following charges: robbery with aggravating circumstances, murder, attempted murder, and possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition. The two accused have abandoned their bail application. 

Court Imposes Triple Life Terms To Merciless Rapist

A 35-year-old rapist, Bhekizitha Mbatha was sentenced to three life imprisonment terms by the Protea Magistrates' Court on 08 August 2022 for repeatedly raping three women in Diepkloof, Soweto. Mbatha was convicted after a lengthy trial of 15 witnesses; that included victims, medical doctors, and forensic analysts. He was convicted of three counts of rape, four of robbery with aggravating circumstances, and three of assault with intent to inflict grievous bodily harm. 

A Group Of Men In Court For Krugersdorp Alleged Gang Rape

A group of seven men, appeared at the Krugersdorp Magistrates' Court, facing multiple counts of rape, sexual assault, robbery with aggravating circumstances and the Contravention of the Immigration Act. The charges stem from the incident that happened on 28 July 2022, where eight women were allegedly gang-raped while filming a music video at a mine dump in Krugersdorp. 

Illegal Lesotho National Gets Two Life Terms And 25 Years For Rape

The Sebokeng Magistrate’s Court sentenced an illegal Lesotho nation Tshepo Masaleng (27), to two life terms and 25 years imprisonment, for four counts of kidnapping and four counts of rape of 3 minor girls, aged 13,14 and 16, and a young lady who at the time was 18 years old.  The magistrate ordered that his name be added to the National Register for Sexual offenders and be declared unfit to possess a firearm.
