MAN SENTENCED TO 15 YEARS FOR ROBBERY WITH AGGRAVATING CIRCUMSTANCES PEDDIE, EASTERN CAPE
The Peddie Regional Court has sentenced Mthozami Mtsewu (35) to 15 years’ direct imprisonment for robbery with aggravating circumstances, after he and an accomplice violently robbed a man and his family at gunpoint under false pretences.

MAN SENTENCED TO LIFE IMPRISONMENT FOR RAPE OF HIS DAUGHTER'S FRIEND
The Ermelo Regional Court has sentenced Abraham Cronjé (41) to life imprisonment for the rape of his daughter's friend in 2024. The accused pleaded guilty to the offence and was subsequently convicted of rape. The accused's daughter and the victim were both 16 years old when the incident occurred.

12-YEAR SENTENCE FOR MAN WHO ROBBED ELDERLY WOMAN
Colesberg, Northern Cape – The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) in the Northern Cape welcomes the conviction and sentencing of Nkosinathi Mhlakulo (40), who was found guilty of robbery with aggravating circumstances by the Colesberg Regional Court on 28 July 2025. The court further declared the accused unfit to possess a firearm.

CHINESE NATIONAL FINED FOR UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF ABALONE IN FICKSBURG
Ficksburg, Free State – The Ficksburg Magistrates’ Court has convicted and sentenced Chinese national, Tianping Chen (47), for the unlawful possession of abalone without the required permit. He was found guilty of contravening Section 36(1)(a) and (b) of the Marine Living Resources Act 18 of 1998, read with Section 96 of the same Act.

MAN SENTENCED TO LIFE IMPRISONMENT FOR MURDERING HIS GIRLFRIEND
Mogwase, North West – The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) in the North West welcomes the life imprisonment sentence handed down by the Mogwase Regional Court to Thabo Samuel Segale (41) for the brutal murder of his girlfriend, Amogelang Princess Mpete (24). The court also declared him unfit to possess a firearm.
