MBHASHE WARD COUNCILLOR KILLER SENTENCED TO TWO LIFE TERMS
Butterworth – The Butterworth Regional Court has sentenced Thembinkosi Dyakophu (39) to two life imprisonment terms for the murder of Mbhashe Local Municipality ward councillor, Mzikayise Saki (45), and the rape of his girlfriend on 21 July 2023.

LIFE IMPRISONMENT FOR RAPIST
The Eshowe Regional Court has sentenced a 38-year-old man to life imprisonment for the rape of a 19-year-old girl in March 2022.
The complainant rented a room at the accused's homestead, along with other learners, as they were attending a nearby school. On the evening of the offence, the complainant was alone in her room when the accused went there, requesting that she charge his Bluetooth speaker.

PAROLEE SENTENCED TO TWO LIFE TERMS FOR CORRECTIVE RAPE OF A 14-YEAR-OLD
The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) welcomes the two-life imprisonment sentence handed down by the Pretoria Magistrates’ Court to a 39-year-old man from Olievenhoutbosch. This is after he was convicted of two counts of rape of his 14-year-old neighbour.

RAPIST SENTENCED TO 15 YEARS’ DIRECT IMPRISONMENT
Galeshewe, Northern Cape – The Galeshewe Regional Court has sentenced Hughlin Swarts (24) to 15 years’ direct imprisonment for rape, in terms of Section 51(2) of the Criminal Law Amendment Act 105 of 1997. The court further ordered that his name be entered into the National Register for Sexual Offenders and declared him unfit to possess a firearm.
