The NPA’s Investigating Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC) has, in the past weeks, received media queries relating to unfounded allegations of warrants having been issued for the arrest of the National Police Commissioner, General Fannie Masemola and others, and has taken note of numerous false articles that have been published on these allegations.

HOPETOWN MAN SENTENCED TO 15 YEARS IMPRISONMENT FOR ATTEMPTED RAPE OF A MINOR

Hopetown, Northern Cape – The Hopetown Regional Court has sentenced Jerry Meyers (31) to 15 years of direct imprisonment, with a non-parole period of 10 years under Section 276B of the Criminal Procedure Act, for the attempted rape of an eight-year-old girl.

3 x LIFE AND 14 YEARS IMPRISONMENT FOR FAMILY MURDERER

The Durban High Court (sitting in Scottburgh) has sentenced a 39-year-old man to three terms of life imprisonment and 14 years imprisonment for the murders and attempted murder of his family members in August 2023 in the Chatsworth area. His conviction and sentence also include firearm and ammunition-related charges.
