THIRD PERPETRATOR IN FARM ATTACK ON ELDERLY COUPLE SENTENCED

The Hankey Regional Court has sentenced Shaun Geswindt (24) to an effective 44 years’ imprisonment for a violent and calculated farm attack that left a 70-year-old farmer severely injured and traumatised. The incident occurred on 6 February 2022 at Connie Muller Farm, Kwagga in Patensie, where the victims—an elderly couple—were brutally attacked inside their farmhouse. The wife, who was wheelchair-bound and unable to walk, has since passed away.

PAROLEE SENTENCED TO LIFE IMPRISONMENT FOR RAPE OF 8-YEAR-OLD GIRL

Waterval, Limpopo – The Waterval Regional Court has convicted and sentenced Bishop (41) from Musina, a parolee, to life imprisonment for raping an 8-year-old girl. The sentencing was delivered today, 31 October 2025. The court declared him unfit to possess a firearm under Section 103 of the Firearms Control Act 60 of 2000 and ordered his name entered into the National Register for Sexual Offenders.

20 YEARS FOR FATHER WHO RAPED AND SEXUALLY ASSAULTED 9-YEAR-OLD DAUGHTER

Roodepoort, Gauteng – The Roodepoort Magistrates’ Court has sentenced a 38-year-old father to an effective 20 years’ imprisonment for raping and sexually assaulting his biological 9-year-old daughter in 2021. The offences occurred in Roodepoort. The sentencing was delivered today, 30 October 2025.

THREE MEN SENTENCED TO 15 YEARS’ IMPRISONMENT FOR DAMAGING ESSENTIAL INFRASTRUCTURE

Taung, North West – The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) welcomes the 15-year sentences handed down to Letlhogonolo Selaledi (34), Thabang Kgalapa (33), and Kenneth Chauke (34) by the Taung Regional Court. The trio was convicted of tampering with essential infrastructure, and each received 15 years of direct imprisonment.

MAN SENTENCED TO LIFE IMPRISONMENT FOR RAPE OF A MINOR

Elukwatini, Mpumalanga – The Elukwatini Regional Court has convicted and sentenced Mandla Ngwenya (32), a security officer at a local community hall, to life imprisonment for raping a 15-year-old girl in Mayflower, eLukwatini district. Ngwenya was declared unfit to possess a firearm, unsuitable to work with children, and the court ordered his name to be entered into the National Register for Sex Offenders.

SOLE DIRECTOR AND COMPANY CONVICTED OF FRAUD WORTH OVER R2.3 MILLION

The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) in Mpumalanga welcomes the conviction of Themba Keddy Mpika (52) and his company, My Teddy Enterprise (Pty) Ltd, on nine counts of fraud involving more than R2.3 million. The verdict was delivered by the Mpumalanga Specialised Commercial Crimes Court, sitting in Middelburg.
