MOZAMBICAN NATIONAL SENTENCED TO 18 YEARS FOR ATTEMPTED RAPE AND MURDER 

Johannesburg – The High Court of South Africa, Gauteng Division in Johannesburg, has sentenced a Mozambican national to 18 years’ imprisonment for the attempted rape and murder of Nompumelelo Manana, which occurred on 11 May 2024 in Lyndhurst.

LIFE IMPRISONMENT FOR FEMICIDE 

The Ngwelezane Regional Court has sentenced a 44-year-old man to life imprisonment for the murder of his partner in December 2024 in the Oqwaleni area. The couple were in a love relationship, and they lived with their two minor children.

The Scottburgh Regional Court has sentenced a 40-year-old man to life imprisonment for the rape of a woman in August 2023. The complainant was renting a premises there as attended college in the vicinity.
