Lichtenburg, North West – The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) welcomes the life imprisonment sentence handed down by the Lichtenburg Regional Court to Mokgosi Mothibi (42) of Blydeville, Lichtenburg, for the murder of 26-year-old Tebogo Mosehle. The judgment was delivered on 25 November 2025.

HIGH COURT IN KIMBERLEY CONVICTS BROTHER FOR MURDERING HIS SISTER

Kimberley, Northern Cape – The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) in the Northern Cape notes the conviction and sentencing of Herman Hermanus Du Toit, who appeared before the High Court sitting in Kimberley for the murder of his sister, 58-year-old Ellen Lorraine Botha. The deceased and the accused lived together in New Park, Kimberley, at the time of the incident.

LIFE AND 73 YEARS IMPRISONMENT FOR MURDER AND ROBBERY

The Ulundi Regional Court has sentenced Bheki Khehla Mdakane (42) to life and 73 years imprisonment for the string of offences he committed in March and April 2023. The offences include two counts of murder, attempted murder, kidnapping, robbery with aggravating circumstances, assault GBH, as well as unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition.

TWO MEN SENTENCED FOR ROBBERY COMMITTED DURING COVID-19 LOCKDOWN

Johannesburg – The Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court has sentenced two men, Innocent Phiri (54) and Blessed Ncube (36), to 15 years’ imprisonment each for robbery with aggravating circumstances. The offence was committed in Atterberry, Pretoria, in May 2021 during the national COVID-19 lockdown.
