TRIO CONVICTED FOR THE MURDER OF BRITISH BOTANISTS

The KwaZulu-Natal Division of the High Court sitting in Durban has convicted Fatima Bibi Patel, Sayefudeen Aslam Del Vecchio, and Musa Jackson on charges of kidnapping, robbery with aggravating circumstances, theft, and two counts of murder. Del Vecchio was additionally convicted of malicious injury to property.

HUSBAND SENTENCED TO LIFE IMPRISONMENT FOR THE MURDER OF HIS WIFE

The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) welcomes the sentence imposed by the Polokwane High Court on Molabe Fannie Seribishane (56) of Ngwaname Newstand, Mafefe, for the murder of his wife, Mumsy Seribishane, a former nurse at Lebowakgomo Hospital. Evidence before the court revealed that in 2023, Seribishane threatened his wife and contravened a protection order granted in terms of the Domestic Violence Act.

LIFE SENTENCES FOR REPEATED ABUSE AND NEGLECT OF A MINOR

The National Prosecuting Authority welcomes the sentence of life and 30 years imprisonment handed down by the Durban Regional Court to a 30-year-old man (accused 1) and his 30-year-old wife (accused 2) following their conviction on charges of attempted murder of a minor, child neglect, child abuse, and intimidation. Accused 2 was sentenced to a further term of life imprisonment and 20 years imprisonment for compelled self-sexual assault and two counts of attempted murder. The offences took place in the Welbadacht East area, outside Durban, where the accused were resident.

DIRECT IMPRISONMENT FOR ROBBERS

The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) welcomes the sentences imposed by the Scottburgh Regional Court on Mfundo Mkhize (19) and Sandile Mqadi (27) following their conviction on two counts of robbery with aggravating circumstances. Mkhize was also convicted on two counts of attempted robbery.

The offences were committed in 2024.

On 09 and 10 March 2024, the accused entered two homes in the Umzinto area while armed and robbed the complainants of personal belongings, household appliances and cellphones before fleeing the scenes.

SEVEN ACCUSED IN AKA AND TIBZ MURDER CASE APPEAR IN COURT

Today, 11 June 2026, all seven men arrested in connection with the murders of Kiernan Jarryd Forbes (AKA) and Tebello "Tibz" Motsoane, as well as related offences, appeared before the Durban High Court.

Siyabonga Gezani Ndimande and Malusi Dave Ndimande, who were successfully extradited from the Kingdom of Eswatini last year, appeared alongside Lindokuhle Thabani Mkhwanazi, Lindani Zenzele Ndimande, Siyanda Eddie Myeza, Mziwethemba Harvey Gwabeni and Lindokuhle Lindo Ndimande.

TRIO SENTENCED TO LIFE IMPRISONMENT FOR CONTRACT KILLING OF PAKISTANI SHOP OWNER

The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) welcomes the sentence imposed by the Gqeberha Regional Court, which saw three men each sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of Pakistani businessman, Mamun Hosain, in a planned and targeted killing.

Kirsten Johannes (24), Justin Johannes (29), and Daviton Brown (23) were convicted of murder, unlawful possession of a firearm, and unlawful possession of ammunition. Brown was additionally convicted of robbery with aggravating circumstances.

EIGHT-YEAR IMPRISONMENT SENTENCE FOR TAMPERING WITH ESSENTIAL INFRASTRUCTURE

Kimberley, Northern Cape – The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) welcomes the conviction and sentencing of Abraham Shuping (26) by the Kimberley Regional Court for contravening section 3(1)(a) of the Criminal Matters Amendment Act 18 of 2015, relating to the tampering with, damaging, or destruction of essential infrastructure, read with section 51(2) of the Criminal Law Amendment Act 105 of 1997.

ARMED ROBBER SENTENCED TO 15 YEARS' IMPRISONMENT

The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) welcomes the conviction and sentencing of 50-year-old Onias Ndlovu by the Johannesburg Regional Court on charges of robbery with aggravating circumstances, pointing an object resembling a firearm, and contravening the Immigration Act.

SERIAL RAPIST SENTENCED TO FOUR LIFE TERMS AND 79 YEARS’ DIRECT IMPRISONMENT FOR VIOLENT CRIMES

The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) welcomes the sentence of four life terms handed down by the Pretoria High Court to Tshepo Murendeni Mulovhedzi (30) from Mamelodi. He was convicted of the rape of an 11-year-old girl, the premeditated murder and rape of 25-year-old Dolly Phoko Seoka, the rape of a 25-year-old woman, and the rape of a 27-year-old woman.

MOTHER ABANDONED BAIL APPLICATION FOR ALLEGED MURDER OF HER KIDS

Limpopo – A 27-year-old woman, Ntanganedzeni Siphugu, appeared briefly before the Tshilwavhusiku Magistrate's Court on two counts of murder. The accused abandoned her bail application.

It is alleged that on 01 June 2026, at Madabani Village, the accused administered a poisonous substance to her two minor children, aged six and nine years.
