MAN SENTENCED TO 40 YEARS’ IMPRISONMENT FOR TWO COUNTS OF RAPE

Nebo, Limpopo – The Nebo Regional Court has convicted and sentenced Selby Phakoago (30) from Mohlaletsi to 40 years’ imprisonment for two counts of rape. The court further ordered that his name be included in the National Register for Sexual Offenders and declared him unfit to possess a firearm in terms of Section 103 of the Firearms Control Act 60 of 2000.

De Aar, Northern Cape – The De Aar Regional Court has sentenced Sivuyile Nyember (26) to 10 years’ direct imprisonment for the murder of 38-year-old Collin Badenhorst. The sentence follows Nyember’s guilty plea to the charge of murder.

Springbok, Northern Cape – The Springbok Regional Court has sentenced 19-year-old Jason Prins to 10 years’ direct imprisonment for the murder of Michael-Angelo van Wyk (19), which occurred on 1 March 2025 in Vaalwater, near Springbok.
