MATLALA CASE TRANSFERRED TO THE HIGH COURT
Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala appeared before the Alexandra Magistrates’ Court alongside his co-accused, Musa Kekana, Tiego Floyd Mabusela, Zandile Nthabiseng Nzama and his wife, Tsakane Matlala. Matlala and his co-accused face 25 charges, 11 of which are for attempted murder, stemming from three separate shooting incidents between August 2022 and January 2024.

LIFE IMPRISONMENT FOR MAN WHO MURDERED HIS PARTNER IN STERKSPRUIT
Sterkspruit, Eastern Cape – The Sterkspruit Regional Court has sentenced Luyanda Mbolekwa (34) to life imprisonment for the brutal murder of his domestic partner, Nokwazi Mpompo Ntloko (31). The court also declared him unfit to possess a firearm.

GEORGE MAN SENTENCED TO LIFE IMPRISONMENT FOR EX-WIFE’S BRUTAL MURDER
George, South Africa; The High Court of South Africa has sentenced murderer, Rodney Witbooi, to life imprisonment, 37 years and three months direct imprisonment after the State successfully prosecuted him for the brutal murder of his ex-wife after ending their relationship. The court convicted Witbooi on charges of attempted rape, two counts of illegal possession of drugs, housebreaking, attempted murder and murder.

IDAC HEAD OF INVESTIGATION OPERATIONS KIDNAPPED AND ABANDONED
The head of Investigations and Operations at the Investigating Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC) was kidnapped last night while driving home. His assailants assaulted him and abandoned him near Rabie Ridge in the early hours of the morning. They took off with his cellphone and laptop.
