HEAVY SENTENCES FOR LESOTHO NATIONALS CONVICTED OF DOUBLE MURDER, RAPE, AND ROBBERY IN WELKOM
Welkom, Free State – The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) in the Free State welcomes the heavy sentences handed down by the Welkom Regional Court against five Lesotho nationals convicted for a violent crime spree that left two people dead, two women raped, and a community traumatised.

FOUR LIFE TERMS PLUS 50 YEARS FOR GQEBERHA MAN WHO MURDERED A CIVILIAN AND FIRED AT POLICE
Gqeberha, Eastern Cape: The High Court of South Africa, Eastern Cape Division, Gqeberha, has sentenced Lunga Skweyiya (37) to four life terms plus 50 years and six months’ imprisonment following his conviction on seven counts, including the premeditated murder of Luzuko Shepherd Meje (24) and the attempted murder of three police officers.

LIFE PLUS 15 YEARS FOR MDANTSANE MAN WHO RAPED AND ROBBED WOMAN
Mdantsane, Eastern Cape: The Mdantsane Regional Court has sentenced Xolisani Nobompi (43) to life imprisonment plus 15 years for the rape and robbery with aggravating circumstances of a woman in Zone 03, Mdantsane. The incident occurred in the early hours of 24 November 2019, when the complainant was 38 years old.
