Suspect Appears in Court for Destruction of Property

The Vryburg Magistrates’ Court postponed a case against Sibongile Dube(35) to 17 January 2022 for bail application and further investigations. His court appearance originates from his arrest on 09 January 2022, when he was caught smashing the Vryburg Magistrates Court windows. He is charged with malicious damage to property. 

Suspects Denied Bail In an Assault Case

The Taung Magistrates’ Court denied bail to two suspects Rebaone Malekanyo (32) and Tumelo Tlonkwe (31), and their case was postponed to 24 February 2022 for further investigations. In passing this judgement, the magistrate agreed with the state’s sentiment that it is in the interest of justice for the duo to remain in custody until the matter is concluded. The pair are charged with assault to cause grievous bodily harm and police are also investigating a case of kidnapping and murder. 

Man Appeared In Court for Shooting Seven Family Members

Earlier today, Azwidohwi Enoch Ndou, a 52 year old nurse, appeared in Malamulele Magistrates' Court on charges of killing seven family members at Jimmy Jones Village in the Malamulele area On Christmas Day 25 December 2021. 

It is alleged that Ndou went on a killing spree on Saturday morning as the family members were fighting for a stand that belongs to their father.

Two Suspects Appear on an Assault Charge - Murder and Kidnapping Not Ruled Out

Bail Denied to Portuguese National Arrested on Red Notice

Joao Manuel de Oliveira Rendeiro(69) was denied bail today in the Verulam Magistrates' Court. His appearance relates to his recent arrest in Umhlanga, on an Interpol Red Notice.
 
In September this year Rendeiro was convicted of tax evasion and money laundering amounting to 31 million euros in Portugal and was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment. He took the matter on appeal and when Portuguese authorities realised that he had absconded, they issued the Red Notice.
