NPA OFFICIAL ACCUSED OF MALICIOUS DAMAGE TO PROPERTY GRANTED BAIL
The Thohoyandou Magistrates’Court has granted R2 000 bail to Tshinyadzo Meshack Mudau (53), a manager under Occupational Health and Safety at the National Prosecuting Authority(NPA) Head Office. The accused is from Tshidzini Mutshetoni village who was arrested by Tshaulu police officials on a charge of malicious damage to property. It is alleged that on 27 May 2026, he partially demolished an outside room under construction at his mother's house after a family dispute. A protection order was also granted against him.
During the bail proceedings, Senior Public Prosecutor did not oppose Mudau ‘s release on bail, noting that he has no previous or pending cases against him. However, the Senior Public Prosecutor facilitated that a protection order is applied for and same granted against the accused. In his bail conditions it was stated that he must not enter the homestead of the complainant and he must not interfere with the state witnesses.
The case is postponed to 21 July 2026 for further investigation.
