A PASTOR IN COURT FOR TWO COUNTS OF ALLEGED SEXUAL ASSAULT AND TWO COUNTS OF RAPE

Limpopo, South Africa – A 54-year-old man of Mareis village has appeared in Seshego Magistrates’ Court for a bail application on charges of sexual assault of a 14-year-old minor girl, and he has another matter at Senwabarwana Magistrates’ Court for two counts of rape of two minor girls aged 15 at the time of the incidents.

On the matter of Seshego, it is alleged that between 2023 and 2024, the victim would visit the accused's homestead as a member of his church. He would then sexually assault the victim by touching her inappropriately when she visited him until she reported the matter to her family. The accused was eventually arrested on 15 February 2026, and his bail hearing will proceed on Thursday (16 April 2026).

On the matter of Senwabarwana, it is alleged that between 2019 and 2022, the accused would request the minor girls to his place on different dates, under the pretence that they would be assisting his wife and child; however, he would rape them and threaten to kill their parents if they reported the matter. The victims eventually reported the matter to their families, and it led to the arrest of the accused around December 2025. The accused has appeared in court, and his matter was postponed to 17 April 2026 for a bail application.
