TRIAL DATES SET FOR ALLEGED INSTIGATORS OF JULY 2021 PUBLIC VIOLENCE

The case against the 62 alleged instigators charged in connection with the unrest and public violence that occurred in July 2021, in various parts of KwaZulu-Natal, returned to the Durban High Court today.

Today, the matter was certified trial-ready and set down for the following periods: 20 July 2026 up to and including 21 August 2026,and, 24 August 2026 up to and including 18 September 2026.

The accused face charges of conspiracy to commit public violence, incitement to commit public violence, terrorism, sedition, and conspiracy to commit murder.
