DJ WARRAS’ ALLEGED KILLER DENIED BAIL
The Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court has denied bail to Victor Mthethwa Majola (44), who is facing charges of premeditated murder and conspiracy to commit murder. The charges relate to the fatal shooting of Warrick Stock, popularly known as DJ Warras, outside the Zambesi Building in Johannesburg’s Central Business District (CBD) on 16 December 2025.
During the bail hearing, the defence argued that the State had failed to present evidence directly linking Majola to the commission of the crime. The State opposed bail, submitting that the accused was likely to evade trial. The State further noted that Majola’s alibi could not be tested, as he elected not to testify in court.
In her ruling, the Magistrate cited concerns that the accused had provided conflicting residential addresses, could potentially intimidate witnesses known to him, and posed a flight risk. The matter was postponed to 11 February 2026 for further investigations. Majola will remain in custody until his next court appearance.
The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) welcomes the judgment, as it sends a strong message that violent crime will not be tolerated and will be met with the full might of the law.
