Man Accused Of Killing Step-Child Appears In Court
Lawak Lorenzo Henzel(23) has appeared in the Petrusville District Court, on a charge of murder. The accused is alleged to have stabbed his 03-year-old stepson to death. According to the allegations, on 25 July 2022, the accused who is the stepfather of the victim, quarrelled with the toddler's mother, who was his ex-girlfriend. The toddler's mother later came back to the suspect’s house, to collect her clothes and he refused her entry to the house. The mother walked away, and the accused refused to hand over the toddler.
She was later accompanied back to the suspect’s house, by the police, and upon her arrival, the 03-year-old boy’s toddler's body was discovered with multiple stabbed wounds. The suspect was found hiding under the bed and was arrested and charged with murder. The accused will be remanded in custody, until his next court appearance, on 02 August 2022, for an attorney and possible bail application.
Investigations led by the SAPS are continuing in this matter.
