Kestell Farm Murder Case Adjourned To Secure Legal Aid Services
BLOEMFONTEIN: The Kestell Magistrates’ court, has today postponed the case against two men accused of killing seven people at Lismore farm, outside Kestell to Wednesday, 20 July 2022, for the accused to get a Legal Aid Attorney. Kamohelo Motankisi (34), and Lerato Selepe (22), are facing seven counts of murder, two counts of rape, one count of robbery with aggravating circumstances, one count of housebreaking with intent to steal, theft and one count of illegal possession of a firearm.
They are accused of being involved in the murder of Sesi Smit, her son Rudy Binda, and five employees at Lismore farm, last Friday. Smit was also robbed of her Ford Ranger, which was later found abandoned on the road between Kestell and Bethlehem. The two men were arrested a few hours later, after the incident in Bohlokong Township, Bethlehem. They were found in possession of a shotgun and a pellet gun. Montakisi and Selepe, appeared without a lawyer and they informed the court that they would be applying for Legal Aid, and the case was then postponed to Wednesday, 20 July 2022.
