JUDGE MAKES NO FINDINGS OF MISCONDUCT ON THE PART OF THE NPA PROSECUTORS

Media reports that Loubser J made adverse findings of unethical conduct on the part of the state, when he delivered judgment in a trial within a trial in the asbestos case on 03 June 2025, are patently incorrect.

Some media houses reported that the Honourable Judge had made findings of misrepresentation during the submission of an extradition application of Ms Moroadi Cholota in the USA.

In Court this morning, 04 June 2025, the Judge stated that he had made no such findings. The DPP Free State, together with the prosecution team, is seriously considering appealing the judgment and will make a final decision after carefully studying the full written judgment once it is made available.

The NPA has full confidence in the prosecution team as they have conducted themselves professionally throughout this case in line with our values of integrity and professionalism.
