MATLALA TO BE JOINED WITH OTHER ACCUSED IN THE MEDICARE 24 TSHWANE DISTRICT CASE

The Pretoria Specialised Commercial Crime Court postponed the case against Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala to 25 September 2026, for him and his two companies to be joined with the other 14 accused linked to the Medicare 24 Tshwane District contract. The postponement was done in his absence, as his legal representative indicated that he was attending a trial at the Johannesburg High Court. 

This follows the  separation of the case against  him and his two companies, when he intended to enter into a plea and sentence agreement with IDAC. He subsequently decided against it, hence he now has to be transferred back to the Pretoria Regional Court to be rejoined in the main case, which is set to appear on 29 September 2026. 

The accused are facing corruption charges relating to the alleged irregular awarding of a contract, valued at approximately R228 million, to Medicare 24 Tshwane District, a company owned by Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala.
