MEDICARE 24 TSHWANE DISTRICT CORRUPTION CASE POSTPONED FOR MATLALA TO BE JOINED WITH OTHER ACCUSED

The Pretoria Magistrates’ Court postponed the corruption case against the 14 accused linked to the Medicare 24 Tshwane District contract, to 29 September 2026 for the matter to be transferred to the regional court where the accused will be joined with Vusi “Cat” Matlala.

The state confirmed that the disclosure of the contents of the docket was completed for all accused.

Meanwhile, following the separation of the case against Matlala and his two companies, and his subsequent appearance at the Specialised Commercial Crime Court wherein he withdrew from a plea and sentence agreement with the state, he is expected back in court on 11 September 2026 for his matter to be transferred back to the Pretoria Regional Court where he and his two companies will be joined with the other 14 accused.

The accused are facing corruption charges relating to the alleged irregular awarding of a contract, valued at approximately R228 million, to Medicare 24 Tshwane District, a company owned by Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala.
