A Medical Doctor Accused Of double Rape Applies For Bail
A medical practitioner based in Kimberley , accused of rape has officially applied for bail in the Kimberley District Court. The suspect is accused of raping a 17-year-old patient at his surgery. It is alleged that on 15 August 2022, the 17-year-old victim went to the accused surgery, for medical consultation.
It is alleged that the accused raped the complainant during a medical examination. The victim left the surgery, and the following morning 16 August 2022, informed her Aunt about the incident, and a case was opened with the Police. The accused was arrested and charged with rape, and bail application has been remanded to 24 August 2022.
Before the bail application, the Doctor also made a first court appearance in the Kimberley District Court, on a charge of sexual assault. It is alleged that on 20 April 2022, the accused sexually assaulted a 25-year-old patient during a medical examination. The matter was postponed to 26 August 2022, for possible bail application.
Investigations led by the Police are continuing in both cases against the accused.
